Locked Up
Edited by Sue Pike
Tales of mystery and intrigue along Canada's Rideau Canal Waterway.
It looks safe on the Rideau, but is it really? Colonel By built the Rideau Canal to defend against a possible American military invasion. He never imagined the carnage that nineteen of Canada's best mystery writers would wreak along this peaceful waterway two centuries later. In Kingston, a promising young lawyer named John A. Macdonald investigates the death of a wealthy landlord. At Jones Falls an early lockmaster finds a special use for a sluice. And there seems to be a corpse for each of the eight locks at Ottawa. The stories range from dark tales of redemption to comic romps, from historical to modern day and there's even a ghost or two for good measure.
Sue Pike is an Arthur Ellis Award winning author and editor of the Ladies' Killing Circle anthologies: Fit to Die, Bone Dance, and When Boomers Go Bad.
They call it the Rideau but it's Curtains for some.
